Journey Matters
Travel is one of my life-long passions. And while I have always been more of a destination person in my work and personal life, it is through my motorcycle travels that I have come to appreciate how much the journey matters.
Ever since I was a small child, my family traveled a lot – mostly in a red station wagon back then. But as I grew older, we began to travel overseas as well, and I fell in love with the entire travel experience no matter where we were headed. We visited England, Wales, West and East Germany – even Japan, where I lived one summer as a college student. We had an expression as a family to describe the sense of adventure we came to expect from our travels: “Nach ein ander abendteur” (in German) or “Yet another adventure.”
Now that I have my own family, my wanderlust is just as strong if not moreso. We travel as often as we can with our children, but some of our greatest adventures for my husband and me come on two wheels. Motorcycling has become a new way for us to continue exploring amazing places, meeting interesting people and seeing the beauty of the world.
Listed here are some of our motorcycle journeys. I invite you to come along for the ride.
